UK chancellor Rachel Reeves praised the “power and strength” of the City of London in keeping Ukraine’s economy functioning during wartime by developing innovative financing and insurance products to stimulate investment, including by multilateral banks based in the financial centre.
“I’m pleased at the prioritisation of the EBRD on Ukraine,” said Reeves during the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s annual meeting in London on Wednesday. “[We are] using the power and strength of the City of London to provide innovative tools on insurance . . . which is so important for keeping the economy functioning in Ukraine,” she said.
