One thing is for sure, the mother of eight is a guiding light for us all
Given how much life Marie Osmond has lived over the past 65 years, it makes sense that she has infinite amounts of wisdom and advice to offer on topics like faith, self-care, family and even weight loss. Those quotes sometimes get lost or forgotten, but not today! Below, we have rounded up the six best Marie Osmond quotes that perfectly sum up her positive and uplifting energy. Read on for more.
Like every one of her siblings, Osmond was raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And even to this day, the singer says that her relationship with God is still the most important thing to her.
“When life gets a little bit too tough to stand, kneel and you’ll find answers. God is my strength,” Osmond told Woman’s World in 2024. “I say to women especially, and I tell my daughters this, that you need to trust your intuition and ask for grace. Grace is a powerful word, and when you feel that you can’t go on—we all have those moments—somehow God gives you that grace to help you achieve what you need to do.”
As a woman in the spotlight, Osmond’s body has often made headlines, and while some might become self-conscious about that, she isn’t! In fact, the singer even shared that she loves to indulge her sweet tooth from time to time and forgets about the calories.
“I love being healthy, but I don’t deny myself either—I just had a big ol’ cheesecake last night!” Osmond told First For Women in their May 2024 issue. “But I try to eat for energy, and I eat all the time so that my body never gets into that starvation mode where you’re tempted to overeat.”
She also shared the secret to her weight loss success: a turmeric supplement called Instaflex.
“One of the reasons I lost 50 pounds is because my knees were giving out,” she says. “In one week of taking Instaflex, I felt the difference. It’s natural—made of turmeric and resveratrol, which are natural anti-inflammatories—and it’s amazing. I’m more active and don’t ache like I used to.”
It turns out singing isn’t the only thing Osmond loves. The mother of eight apparently is quite crafty and can often be found creating things with her grandkids.
“I love knitting and crocheting,” Osmond told Woman’s World last year. “I’ve been trying to teach my little granddaughter to crochet, and it was a tough thing for her to learn. Well, she just turned eight and she’s got it down! She makes her own pattern, and she just made me this cute little green bag. She said, ‘Grandma, this is for you to carry your jewelry when you travel.’ She made it all by herself. Those things, to me, are priceless.”
How sweet is that!
Everyone needs a little self-love every now and then, and Osmond is no exception. But instead of sitting back and putting on a face mask, she apparently prefers to just check in with herself and make sure that she is listening to what her body is trying to tell her.
“I think it’s a common statement, but it’s very true: Give yourself a break!” Osmond told First for Women. “I came from an era and an industry where you are very hard on yourself, but when I got healthy, and I got my weight under control, I kind of had to make peace with my body. Just saying to my body, ‘You have been so good to me when I have not been so good to you,’ is healing. Making that peace has given me freedom and a feeling of being connected to myself again.”
Great advice, Osmond!
Above everything else, Osmond is a wife, mother of eight and grandmother of eight—which she says is the best thing in the world.
“My husband, Stephen Craig, and I are spoiling our grandkids rotten, and it is so fun!” she said. “In 50 years, the only people who will remember me are my kids and grandchildren, so I’m trying to build my own legacy of love to leave behind.”
Cheers to that!
