Inside Donald Trump’s unusual health routine: 4 hours of sleep, 12 diet cokes a day, and more – The Financial Express

US President Donald Trump has a very peculiar diet and its not very healthy. Over the years, Donald Trump has famously said fast food and snacking are part of his regimen.
Recently, a X user Craig Brockie shared a detailed thread on “Trump’s crazy health routine.”
“78-year-old President Donald Trump sleeps 4-5 hours a night, gets shot at, has the most stressful job on Earth, drinks 12 Diet Cokes a day and somehow still has more energy than 99% of people I know and lost 30 pounds,” Brockie posted.
78-year-old President Donald Trump:
• Sleeps 4-5 hours a night,
• Gets shot at,
• Has the most stressful job on Earth,
• Drinks 12 Diet Cokes a day…
And somehow still has more energy than 99% of people I know and lost 30 pounds.

In October 2020, Trump tested positive for COVID-19. Known for his fast food and Diet Coke diet, many were concerned. Yet, he bounced back quickly, defying expectations and showing resilience despite his eating habits, he wrote.
Trump has moved from a fast-food-heavy diet to healthier choices like salads and soups. “Prompted by his doctor’s advice, this shift reduces fat and carbs, supporting weight loss and better health. If that wasn’t enough, he lost 30 pounds along the way,” Brockie wrote.
Weighing 236 pounds, Trump was advised by doctors to adopt healthier habits. Cardiologist Dr. Reisman recommended the “30 and 5 programs”: 30 minutes of brisk walking five days a week and a Mediterranean diet rich in fish and fiber.
President Trump’s treatment included zinc, vitamins, melatonin, and a daily aspirin to boost immunity.
In a Dr. Oz interview, his height and weight were listed as 6’3″ and 236 pounds, resulting in a BMI of 29.5, categorizing him as overweight.
“While specific supplements are not publicly detailed, He takes key vitamins and minerals to support his immunity and energy emphasizing a balanced diet first. Supplements help fill nutrient gaps,” Brockie wrote.
According to Brockie, Trump skips traditional workouts but frequently plays golf.
“It’s his primary form of physical activity, helping him stay active and manage his weight without the risks associated with intense exercise,” he said.
Standard guidelines recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise weekly.
Benefits include improved heart health, stress reduction, clarity, and sleep
“In 1997, Trump admitted to avoiding exercise but now stays active with golf,” he revealed.
Despite sleeping only 4-5 hours a night—well below the CDC’s 7–8-hour recommendation—Trump remains remarkably active.
“This gives him more hours a day to drain the swamp. But there is a downside….” he said. Research shows that long-term sleep deprivation can impact cognitive and immune health, so I wouldn’t recommend this for your wellness routine.
A New York Times feature revealed that Trump consumes 12 Diet Cokes daily, a habit few health experts endorse due to concerns around diet soda consumption.
Could this unlikely beverage be fueling his endless energy? “Health experts warn that limited water intake can lead to dehydration and negatively impact overall well-being. Drinking plenty of water is essential for a healthy lifestyle, as it supports digestion, boosts energy, and improves focus,” Brockie wrote.
Trump undergoes annual physicals as President, with the results made public. “The CDC advises regular check-ups for early detection and prevention. Routine evaluations play a key role in health monitoring and long-term wellness,” he said.
