We had a chat with Stephan from Synthesizer Studio Berlin, who showed us the new X-Flow MPE software. This innovative software, showcased at Superbooth, features a visual approach to FM synthesis by associating colors with each of its four operators. Stephan explained that the software offers both an MPE version with 16 voices and a regular version supporting keyboard polyphonic and monophonic aftertouch with 24 voices.
He demonstrated how the interface allows modulation movements using colored dots, which can be controlled individually per finger. The software includes five different waveforms for each operator, enhancing the sound creation possibilities.
Stephan mentioned the availability of presets, with contributions from notable sound designers, and described the additional Supernova Reverb post-processing effect. The X-Flow is available now, with an introductory price of 69 euros and a special discount for Sonic State viewers.
